Robert E. Johnson is the President/CEO and co-founder of Cimcor, Inc. Founded in 1997, Cimcor develops cutting edge IT security software that takes real-time file change detection to the next level by offering instant remediation of changes. This unique software helps companies to not only meet compliance regulations, but also constantly maintain that compliance, stop zero day attacks, protect valuable information and help ensure 100% system uptime. For eight years prior to, Cimcor Inc., Mr. Johnson was Manager of Business Systems for Davy McKee Corporation. In addition, he is the founder of Velocityware, which focuses on the development, marketing, and distribution of mobile software and technology.
Mr. Johnson has an Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming (1989), a Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Programming (1991), and a Master’s of Science Degree in Management (1996) all from Purdue University. He previously taught “Operating System Internals” at Purdue University Calumet.
Mr. Johnson is an inventor and has led the development of several patent-pending technologies. As a result for his passion for technology, he has written numerous articles, been a contributor to books about technology, and developed several commercial software packages. Mr. Johnson was the keynote speaker at the 2008 IEEE International Conference on Digital Information Management in London, England and has presented at the CSI annual conference. He has appeared on CNN, World Business Review, and Inside Indiana Business as well as Bloomberg Radio.
Mr. Johnson is actively involved in the community. He is currently a Board Member of the Purdue Technology Center of Northwest Indiana, a Board Member of Purdue Alumni Calumet, where he is Chair of the communications committee, and is a Committee Co-Chair of the Northwest Indiana Good Government Initiative. Further, he is a member of the Board of Advisors for Purdue University Calumet’s Computer Information Technology department and a member of the Board of Advisors for Westwood College. He has also been appointed by the Governor of Indiana to the Board of Commissioners for the State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana (SSACI). In addition, Mr. Johnson also serves on the Board of Directors for The Methodist Hospitals.
Mr. Johnson was the 2005 recipient of the Purdue Alumni Association-Calumet’s Alumni Committed to Excellence Award for the Department of Computer Information Systems and Information Technology and was also selected in 2005 as one of the top “20 under 40” entrepreneurs by BusINess Magazine.
